In just two editions, Linus Tattoo Party has gone from a standout debut at Kati Kati to one of the most talked-about events on Kampala's social calendar. Organised by creative artist Linus, the event has built its identity around something simple but rare - a space where tattoo culture, Amapiano music and Kampala's youth energy genuinely belong together.
From Kati Kati To Millennium Park
The first edition at Kati Kati Grounds on May 16, 2025 gave Kampala a taste of what Linus Tattoo Party stood for - tattoo sessions from artists flown in across Africa at just UGX 30,000, free piercings, virtual gaming zones, and a headline Amapiano set from South Africa's LeeMcKrazy and Scotts Maphuma. The crowd responded. By the time the second edition was announced, demand had grown enough that organizers upgraded the venue entirely to Millennium Park Grounds in Lugogo - a much larger space built for a much larger crowd.

Amapiano At The Centre Of It All
Amapiano has never been background music at Linus Tattoo Party - it is the heartbeat of the experience. For the 2026 edition, South African trio Scotts Maphuma, Cowboii and Officixl RSA are confirmed as headliners. The three are behind some of the genre's most dominant records right now, including Mark Zuckerberg, Ngibolekeni and Nakupenda - tracks that have been running on loop in clubs and playlists across Africa. Their presence signals just how seriously this event is now positioned within the continent's creative nightlife circuit.
Linus Tattoo Party feels less like a regular event and more like Kampala culture documenting itself in real time.
Major Brands Are Paying Attention
Brand partnerships have followed the growth. For the 2026 edition, Captain Morgan came on board as a key partner through its Spice On campaign, with Raymond Karama, Captain Morgan Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries, noting that the event embodies the bold and expressive energy the brand stands for. MTN Uganda, through its youth lifestyle platform MTN Pulse, has also announced sponsorship of the second edition - reinforcing the event's positioning as one of the standout youth experiences on Kampala's calendar this year. Together, both partnerships reflect how brands targeting Uganda's younger audiences increasingly see Linus Tattoo Party as the right cultural fit.
More Than Music - A Full Creative Experience
What separates Linus Tattoo Party from a standard concert is how much happens beyond the stage. Attendees get access to live tattoo sessions, piercings, henna art and interactive experiences across the full day - gates open from early and the energy builds gradually rather than arriving all at once. The atmosphere invites people to explore, create and express themselves across multiple touchpoints, not just wait for a headline act. That structure is deliberate and it is a big part of why the crowd keeps coming back.
Why Events Like This Matter For Kampala
The growth of Linus Tattoo Party mirrors something wider happening in Kampala's nightlife scene. Audiences, especially younger ones, increasingly want experiences with a strong visual and cultural identity - not just a lineup. Events that blend music, art, fashion and community into one coherent atmosphere are the ones building loyal followings. Linus Tattoo Party has found that formula and is scaling it intentionally.
With South African Amapiano acts, credible brand backing, a bigger venue and a growing reputation across media and social platforms, the second edition is positioned to be the event's biggest moment yet.
